The Armed Forces Museum of Norway (Norwegian: Forsvarsmuseet) is a military museum located at Akershus Fortress in Oslo, Norway. It was established when two older military museums were merged and was opened to the public in 1978 by King Olav V. The museum’s main purpose is to show Norwegian military history from the Viking Age to the present day, and it consists of several departments covering different historical periods and aspects of military activity. The collection includes mostly army materiel and exhibits on events from early history through both World Wars and up to modern times.
