The Vikingtidsmuseet (formerly known as the Viking Ship Museum) is a museum on the Bygdøy peninsula in Oslo, part of the Kulturhistorisk museum at Universitetet i Oslo. It houses some of the most significant Viking-era finds in Norway — including the famous Osebergskipet, Gokstadskipet and Tuneskipet — along with many grave-goods such as sledges, beds, carved animal heads, textiles and more. Originally opened in 1926 (with later expansions), the museum has been closed for renovation since 2021 and is scheduled to reopen in 2027 as a modernized facility.
