Unity Arena, formerly known as Telenor Arena, is a large indoor multi-purpose venue located at Fornebu in Bærum, just outside Oslo. It opened in March 2009 on the site of the former Oslo airport, and has since become Norway’s principal arena for concerts, sports events, exhibitions, trade fairs, family shows and large-scale cultural events. With a flexible capacity — 15,000 seats for sports and up to 25,000 for concerts — the arena can be configured to match events of very different sizes. In recent years, Unity Arena has undergone a major renovation (completed around 2024/2025) that improved acoustics, stage setups, catering and overall visitor experience, and introduced new seating configurations that allow events ranging from intimate 5,000-person concerts to full-scale arena shows.
Since its opening the arena has hosted some of the world’s biggest acts and major international events. As part of a broader development plan, Unity Arena is envisaged not only as a venue for big events, but as the heart of a new urban area on Fornebu — with additional amenities such as restaurants, cultural venues, entertainment spaces and social meeting places — transforming it into a modern meeting place for both everyday life and spectacular events.
