The lighthouse was established in 1876 to guide maritime traffic approaching Oslo and originally consisted of a light mounted on a keeper’s house. It was automated in 1972 and later decommissioned, after which the buildings were preserved. Today, Steilene Lighthouse Station is used for cultural events, accommodation, and recreation, and the islands are a popular destination for boating and outdoor activities.Zip: 1453 City: Bjørnemy
