First constructed in 1927, it has been rebuilt and renovated multiple times to comply with international ski jumping standards, with the most recent reconstruction completed in 2010. The hill forms part of the larger Holmenkollen National Arena, which is one of the world’s most renowned ski jumping and Nordic skiing venues. Midtstubakken hosts both national championships and international competitions, including the prestigious FIS Ski Jumping World Cup events, attracting athletes and spectators from around the world. In addition to professional competitions, the hill and surrounding area are popular for recreational ski jumping and winter sports training. Its location amidst the Nordmarka forest provides scenic views of Oslo and the Oslofjord, making it not only a sports venue but also a significant cultural and tourist landmark.
