Kolsås Skisenter is an alpine ski facility located at Bærums Verk, which has been in use since World War II and is famous for hosting the legendary "Blåveisrennet" race from 1947 to 1978. The facility is owned and operated by the sports clubs Haslum IL, Fossum IF, and Stabæk IF, and it has undergone significant modernization since its early days when the ski lift was powered by an old Volkswagen engine. The current center features a main slope of nearly 600 meters equipped with snow cannons and modern lift capacity, dedicated children's slopes named "Mygghenget" and "Knøtten," as well as a terrain park for snowboarders located where a ski jump once stood. The facilities also include a ski school and a large lodge with a fireplace and café; despite facing financial difficulties in 2008, the center was saved by its owner clubs and continues to be a vital local sports venue with major equipment upgrades completed in 2010.
