Ekeberg is a hill and residential area located southeast of central Oslo, Norway, overlooking the city and the Oslofjord. The area is known for its panoramic views, historical significance, and cultural landmarks, including Ekebergparken Sculpture Park. Ekeberg has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with archaeological findings dating back to the Stone Age, and it is also closely associated with artist Edvard Munch, who found inspiration for several of his works in the surrounding landscape. At the top of Ekeberg lies Ekebergsletta, a large open field that serves as one of Oslo’s most important recreational areas and is internationally known as the main venue for Norway Cup, the world’s largest youth football tournament, held annually and attracting thousands of teams and participants from around the globe.
