Havnelageret is a historic commercial building in Oslo, Norway, located at Langkaia 1 in the Bjørvika harbour area. Erected between 1916 and 1920 and designed by architect Bredo Henrik Berntsen, it originally served as a massive harbour warehouse reflecting the rapid growth of maritime transport during and after World War I and was one of the largest concrete buildings in Europe at the time. Built on deep foundations due to its size, the structure’s fourth floor was even used as an air-raid shelter during World War II. In later decades, the former warehouse was renovated and repurposed as an office building, known for its pink colour and sometimes called “Jacob’s Dream” or the “pink palace” in Bjørvika, and today houses various tenants including the Norwegian Defence Estates Agency.
